Automatic Gear
We understand that being a new or inexperienced driver can be intimidating, so at LMate Driving School, we teach customized lessons to complement the varying skill levels and needs of our clients. We explain the proper mechanics of braking, accelerating, and steering while highlighting the many safety techniques to recognise and avoid dangerous situations. We highlight any weak skill areas, which may be an issue in completing the driving assessment and build the driver's confidence which increases the quality of the driving experience long after our lessons have concluded.
Please review our Google Reviews for glowing testimonials from past customers which demonstrate the outstanding reputation and high-quality driver training that can be obtained from Lmate Driving School.
3 for 1 Log Book Hours
LMATE Driving School is excited to offer the “3 for 1” Structured Lessons Scheme for students under 25 years of age. Developed by the RMS to encourage Learner Drivers to engage in professional lessons, each hour with a qualified instructor will be recorded as 3 hours in the Learner Drivers logbook. A maximum of 10 hours of lessons will be accepted and recorded as 30 hours in the Learner Driver log book.
LMATE Driving School offers a wide range of prices and packages to suit your individual needs. During the first lesson, our experienced instructors will critically evaluate your current skills and offer\ advice and tips on how the student can improve their learning at home, with family or friends, or in their next lesson.
We recommend 2-hour lesson blocks, where you will have time to put the techniques that the instructor is teaching into streamlined practice and hopefully reduce the number of lessons required and the overall cost. The majority of all lessons will be spent on the road, with only the necessary amount of time dedicated to stationary driver theory.
Pre-Test Lessons
The best time to engage a professional driving instructor is at the beginning of your driving journey, setting you off with good habits and the right information from the beginning. We begin the journey in a safe and low-stress environment, allowing beginners to achieve competence in car control and driving procedures without the hassle and danger of busy traffic. We then progress to an increasingly more realistic driver training, to implement the techniques and driving habits outlined and perfected in the beginning part of our lesson structure.
Our recommended training schedule for beginners is outlined below:
-
1 – 2 lesson blocks, as required, in a low-stress environment to the practice steering wheel and mirror use, getting used to breaking and accelerating to build a solid safe driving foundation
-
Practice what you have covered in your first lessons at home with your supervising driver
-
Take a further 4 – 5 lessons spread throughout your at-home practice to complement and enhance the skills you are practicing
-
Book in your final block of lessons approximately two months prior to your test date.
-
Once you feel comfortable behind the wheel and our instructor has confidence that you have the capability to pass the Learner Driver Test it's your time to book the test. We can do your final lessons within the test area and give guidance and tips for successful exam preparation.
