Privacy Policy
This policy explains how LMate Driving School handles personal information about learners, parents and guardians, customers, website visitors and instructor enquirers. For privacy enquiries, contact info@lmate.com.au or 0430 242 155.
What we collect and why
We collect names, contact details, booking, lesson and transaction information, and information provided in enquiries. Instructor enquiries also include experience, availability, service areas, vehicle suitability and licence or authority status. We collect information through Wix forms and bookings, email, phone and conversations, and from parents or guardians booking for learners. Please make others aware when providing their details. We use this information to answer enquiries, arrange and deliver services, consider instructor enquiries, administer business records, handle incidents or complaints and meet legal obligations. Without necessary information, we may be unable to respond or provide a service. Optional fields can be left blank. Please avoid unnecessary sensitive information or identity documents. Enquiries do not subscribe you to marketing.
Storage sharing and overseas processing
We use Wix for our website, forms, bookings, contacts and inbox, and Google Workspace Gmail for email. Full enquiry details may be held in both Wix and email. Access is limited to the business owner and authorised support as needed. We take reasonable steps to protect information. Our technology, communication and payment providers process information to support these services. Relevant information may also be disclosed where required or authorised by law, or lawfully needed for incidents, insurance, complaints or legal claims. See wix.com/about/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.
Retention
We keep information while reasonably needed for enquiries, services, business administration, incidents, complaints or legal obligations. Ordinary enquiries have no fixed automatic expiry. When information is identified as no longer needed during ordinary administration or a relevant request, we delete or de-identify it where appropriate, subject to required records and legal holds. Provider backups may remain until their normal replacement or retention cycles apply.
Vehicle recording
Our vehicle dashcam records road-facing video and audio for incident evidence. Students are notified of recording, signage is displayed, and audio can be switched off on request. Recordings are stored on a local SD card and overwritten on a loop; timing depends on capacity and operating hours. The business owner accesses recordings for incidents. Relevant recordings may be preserved and shared with police or insurers where lawful and appropriate.
Website cookies
Our Wix website uses cookies and similar technologies for site functions and may collect IP address, browser and device details, pages visited and interactions. Refer to the website’s cookie settings for available choices. Blocking cookies may affect functions. Third-party websites have their own privacy practices.
Your requests and complaints
Contact info@lmate.com.au or 0430 242 155 to request access, correction or deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may check your identity or authority proportionately. The business owner handles requests and complaints. We aim to acknowledge them within five business days and resolve them within 30 calendar days, explaining delays or any refusal. Deletion remains subject to legal retention requirements. If dissatisfied, you can ask the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au whether it can consider your complaint, or seek independent advice. Its jurisdiction depends on applicable law. We respond to suspected privacy incidents by containing and assessing them and considering notification obligations.
Updates
We may update this policy as practices or requirements change. The current version will be available on our website. Contact us for an accessible copy.
